Monique and Mike’s stunning Spicers Clovelly Summer wedding
December was a very special time for us here at Mondo Floral Designs. Our senior floral designer Monique (who by the way is a pretty talented floral designer gal!) married her man Mike at beautiful Spicers Clovelly Estate, and what a day it was!
I am sure some people may wonder what a floral designer would have in terms of flowers for their wedding day – the short answer is an abundance of blooms, and our beautiful Monique had a vision of pink and antique mauve for her wedding day florals, and we were able to provide them to her in all the pretty shades. From pale to vivid and as the colours collaborated they represented a vibe filled with fun, vibrancy and serenity, and with touches of Boho eclectic wedding style this summary certainly sums up our gorgeous Monique.
This is Monique and Michaels Love Story
Mon gave us a brief for her bridal bouquet – ‘textural, relaxed, feathery, romantic and modern.’
It was an absolute pleasure to create this for her, and of course the beautiful flower crown that finished off her Boho Luxe wedding style. I adored her want for that pop of luxurious darker vibrant pink, and we sourced these blooms from our amazing David Austin rose grower. In combination with peonies (the last of the season) hydrangea and dahlias, all the summer pretties were on show! It was a relaxed crescent style bouquet design and it was finished perfectly with a jeweled feature by the very talented creator Evie Boho.
The bridesmaids all wore eclectic style dresses in the colour palette, and held gathered collections of summer style blooms.
The ceremony – the beautiful grassy plateau provided the perfect space for Mon and Mike’s formal ‘I Do’s’ and in true Monique style she had a collection of eclectic decor and furniture pieces, divine cushions and throws and a gorgeous garden party scene. Lovebird Weddings executed her Boho Luxe styling brief perfectly, peacock chairs, beaded chandeliers, rugs and hides featured, and the four post timber arbour was adorned with floating lace and pretty ribbons. How we adored creating that canopy floral feature, with whimsical greenery and beautiful blooms the timber arbour had plenty of WOW. It was a beautiful space to say ‘I Do’
There was plenty to do afterwards, with beautiful canapes and drinks served on the garden and plenty of opportunity to utilise that chill out space. Monique and Mike engaged Henna artists, and guests wanting a little bit of Boho body art were treated with a touch of creative! What a great touch and such a lovely way to bring another creative dimension into the mix!
This is Mike – Monique’s main man – husband/mechanic/outdoor adventurer – all round lovely guy!
Our Monique is a kiwi – and we class ourselves as her Aussie fam, but her actual family travelled from New Zealand to see their only daughter say ‘I Do’
The most beautiful family – but we wouldn’t expect anything less – they created our lovely Monique! How wonderful was it for Monique and Mike to have their family and closest friends surrounding them for their special day.

The Reception – well where do we start! It was a pretty special space and filled with an abundance of beautiful blooms.
Our Mon loves a bit of gold, and we combined the metallic brief by using vases in rose gold, luxe gold, and ombre and in combination with her pink and mauve colour palette it was a stunning partnership of romance, texture and fun. Fabric runners and gold vased candles combined with our collaboration of gorgeous vase designs, all overflowing with luscious pink blooms.
The chandeliers from above featured feathery textural fillers and lush green foliage.
It was a stunning collection of styling and blooms and so perfect for Monique and Michaels beautiful day.
