Wedding Diaries

Louise and Brett

What a spectacular month May was, when on a beautiful Autumn afternoon on Sunday the 17th, under the magnificent old tree at Maleny Manor my senior floral designer Louise Hannah wed her beau Brett Mulhall. Surrounded by family and friends who witnessed a very emotional but gorgeous ceremony, Louise played the part of a bride, and a beautiful part she played. Louise works in the industry of weddings almost every day so it was lovely seeing her dream day arrive, although still very involved in the preparations on the day, she enjoyed her wedding immensely and as you would expect played a very big part in the floral designs, a little too much although when with a couple of hours to go we had to order here to stop and start enjoy being a bride!!

As was the case when I was married, Louise wanted to create her bouquets herself, and she did a fantastic job on all of the bouquets and buttonholes, her favourite rose the Sahara played a feature role in her bouquet, while the girls posies featured green roses, and the mini succulents, vine and berries that were also showcased in the bridal bouquet. With a little help from me, and the rest of the Mondo Floral Designs team, together with Louise and her family and friends, we all put our heads down and created the classic styled floral designs that featured at her ceremony and reception. Louise’s inspiration was everything a little bit vintage, designs featured her favourite earthy tones, and each table was adorned with grouped vases with a variety of roses, hyacinths, lisianthus, cymbidium orchids, berries, magnolia foliages, mini succulents, and Bells of Ireland, and yes there were flowers everywhere!

I was lucky enough to be a guest at this extravagant event, and as you can see from the beautiful images that were photographed by Calli Burnett of Calli B Photography this Maleny floral designer who got married certainly didn’t hold back on the flowers, although experiencing hundreds of weddings each year in her role as a wedding floral designer, Louise still managed to create an individual and elegant floral setting for her own wedding day featuring her flower favourites in a style like not seen before.

Thanks to Louise for being my right hand designer, a job that comes with a reasonable amount of pressure and demands, now a married girl herself and back in the thick of things she continues to experience the wonder of weddings nearly every day.
