Focus Films Noosa Wedding

Sally-Ann travelled from Sydney to be married in beautiful Noosa last year and Brad from Focus Films captured the gorgeous day.

Sally-Ann’s bouquet was a soft combination of open bloom white roses, white lisianthus, white double tulips, white hyacinth with a touch of pretty, pale pink Sweet Pea and white Andromeda.

The Mother of the Bride wore a petite wrist corsage featuring white hyacinth, white miniature roses and a touch of Andromeda.

The stunning couple were married at Sails restaurant in a morning ceremony, with a lunchtime reception following at the beachside venue.

The bridesmaid’s carried posies of all white blooms which complimented the patterned pink gowns.

Each table at Sails had a long, rectangular mirror tile with a central fishbowl vase of white blooms including double tulips, lisianthus and freesias with fresh, green foliages.

Olivia & Damien

Olivia & Damien were married on April 25th 2010 at The Plantation, Cooroy and the beautiful event was coordinated by Trudy and her team at Events by Design. This was one of our favourite weddings of the year and we were thrilled to be involved.

The colour palette for the day included: beige, French grey, Antique white, champagne and cream, complemented by touches of soft pink, lilac and green through the floral designs.

Olivia’s bouquet featured creamy Sahara roses, ivory Vendella roses, pale pink hyacinth, white hydrangea (with a slight green hint) and a touch of mauve Shangri-La roses with soft, silver Dusty Miller foliage throughout and on the exterior.

Her bridesmaid carried a bouquet with Sahara roses, Vendella roses, white hydrangea (with a slight green hint) and white hyacinth with soft, silver Dusty Miller foliage.

Damien’s intricate buttonhole was a Vendella rose with a touch of hydrangea, Dusty Miller and dodder vine.

The ceremony area was decorated with furniture from Events By Design, along with 2 x large urn arrangements at the end of the aisle and 8 x small, white pails filled with flowers that suited the colour theme and white rose petals in between.

The tables inside the stunning marquee reception area each held a central, tall, cylinder vase with a large floral design on top. The cylinder vases had white pebbles in the base and were filled with water. On top was the massed, floral design featuring roses, hydrangea, lisianthus and silver Dusty Miller with tall, white willow towering out of the centre. Events by Design hung sparkling crystals from the white willow branches for a truly spectacular centrepiece.

The bridal table had a mirror tile runner with 2 x vases provided for the bridal bouquets, 4 x small vases with a selection of blooms and lots of pretty tealight votives.

Olivia & Damien’s gorgeous day is soon to be featured in Bride to Be magazine later this year.

Georgia & Ben in Real Weddings Magazine

We have the pleasure of working with some of the best wedding suppliers on the Sunshine Coast and the always lovely Tanya Chesterton Smith has kindly sent us a disk of some of the recent weddings that she has photographed – including some gorgeous images of our floral designs.

Amy & Stephen were married at Maleny Manor.

Janet & Andrew celebrated their wedding at The Spotted Chook, Montville.

Kathryn & James, with the help of the gorgeous team at Events by Design, celebrated at Ricky’s River Bar & Restaurant, Noosa.

Kathryn’s bouquet is one of our favourites this year so far featuring pale blue hydrangea, ivory and pale pink David Austin roses, ivory Vendella roses with a touch of pink lisianthus and white Disbuds.

Katie & Adrian chose Maleny Manor for their wedding.

Sally & Russell also said their vows at Maleny Manor.

Michala & Wes

Michala & Wes celebrated their love with a striking and stylish wedding in January this year. The Australian couple reside in New York but wanted to return home to be married in front of their family and friends. They chose Nudgee College in Brisbane, Wes is a former student of the school, for their ceremony and held a gorgeous reception at Maleny Manor, Maleny.

After an initial meeting in our studio with the couple mid last year, the remainder of the decision making and communication had to be done via email when Wes & Michala returned to New York. We often work with couples who live interstate or overseas so this was easily achievable .

Michala chose a traditional white rose bouquet but with a modern style – long, prominent green stems and a white satin bow with long, trailing ribbon.

Michala wanted her bridesmaid’s flowers to really stand out against the neutral base of long, navy dresses and we used an eye-catching combination of fuchsia Phalaenopsis Orchids, hot pink Vanda orchids, coral roses, hot pink Sim Carnations, dark blue Delphinium, hot pink miniature roses and a touch of red hypericum berry.

The 2 flowergirls carried Floral Star Wands covered with white miniature roses, and the Groomsmen’s buttonholes matched the bridesmaid’s bouquets.

We delivered the bridal bouquets and buttonholes to Brisbane, as well as setting up the reception tables at Maleny Manor. As we specialise in wedding floral designs exclusively, we have recently been engaged by many brides who choose Brisbane as their wedding location and we will travel anywhere between the Brisbane and Sunshine Coast regions if required.

Michala requested something “different/creative” for her tables and after many emails back and forth it was decided that each table at Maleny Manor was to be adorned with a tall, glass cylinder vase that held a potted, fuschia Phalaenopsis Orchid and fresh green moss within. We placed the tall vases on square mirror tiles and then scattered a few hot pink Vanda Orchids at the base. With the glimmer from Maleny Manor’s tealights as well, the effect was beautiful and Michala & Wes were thrilled with the end result.

Jade & James

We created the floral designs for Jade & James who were married in October last year in Noosa and we’re excited to announce that their stunning wedding will be featured in the next edition of Wedding Style Guide (out in June)!

Jade carried a soft bouquet of white Sweet Pea and white Lisianthus while her bridesmaids had posy bouquets of lavender Lisianthus, with a couple of blooms for their hair as well.

Coordinated by Events of Noosa, the ceremony was held at Noosa Woods with an elegant reception following at Sails. Jade chose the colours of white, lilac, lavender & mauve to enhance their day and a butterfly theme was featured throughout the wedding. This was a sentimental touch that was incorporated into the stationery designs, the aisle (the flower girls scattered sweet little fabric butterflies and petals) and the bridesmaid’s dresses were a gorgeous butterfly print. Silver butterflies were also suspended from the ceiling at Sails.

The reception table designs at Sails featured 3 cube vases and candles with crystal votives, all placed on a long, rectangular mirror tile. 2 vases were filled with lavender Lisianthus and lavender Sweet Pea while the central vase was a combination of white Lisianthus and white Sweet Pea.

Jade also scattered clear and mauve-toned crystals over the tables for extra sparkle and a shimmering chandelier was hung over the bridal table. Even the napkins had bling with glamorous, diamante-clad napkin rings.

Jane & Dave, Maleny Manor

Jane and her fiance Dave were married at the beginning of April at the gorgeous Maleny Manor. Their photographer was Jess from Jess Marks Photography who was kind enough to send us some stunning images from the day.

Jane wanted a soft combination of open bloom ivory David Austin roses and white lisianthus for her bouquets with no foliage or green tips showing through.

The tables at Maleny Manor had a scattering of rose petals and a posy of white lisianthus and roses for a classic and elegant look.

3 Unique Weddings by Calli B Photography

We are very lucky to often work with Calli Burnett from Calli B Photography for many of the beautiful weddings we are involved in here on the Sunshine Coast.

Recently Calli sent us through some images of several of the weddings we created floral designs for, that Calli also photographed.

We thought we would take this opportunity to share 3 of them with you, each one quite different and unique.

Allison and Glen were married in November in Noosa, a beautiful beachside ceremony took place with a gorgeous reception at Sails Restaurant Noosa later that day.

Allison chose contemporary styled florals for her reception featuring green succulents, fresh figs, moss, freesias and chincherees, while her bridal bouquets featured the elegant Phalaenopsis orchid.

Georgina was married earlier this year at Maleny’s beautiful Little White Wedding Church. A quaint country wedding took place with styling featuring splashes of pinks and showcasing a vintage lace theme. We loved Georgina’s bouquet, featuring David Austin roses, white roses, lisianthus and dusty miller. Her bridesmaids carried pink pomander balls made with pink lisianthus and sim carnations.

An elegant reception at Maleny Manor featured beautifully styled eclectic vases with feature floral blooms in pinks, lavenders and mauves.

Carla and Nat were married late last year in Noosa, a beautiful intimate ceremony took place by the beach at Little Cove with the intimate reception held at Berardo’s Bistro on the Beach. We were thrilled to see Carla’s pink Versace gown, something just a little bit different and it suited this event perfectly.

David Austin roses were the floral focus for this gorgeous wedding, and we created a stunning bouquet featuring these boutique grown blooms, with a blush of pink to accent Carla’s stunning gown.

Angharad & Manny

Angharad & Manny were married at House of Laurels, Maleny last November. Angharad’s favourite flowers are Hydrangeas and Peonies so November was the perfect month for these blooms. Hydrangeas are a summer flower and the highly desired Peony is only in season for about 5 weeks of the year (November – early December.) Angharad planned her stylish wedding for the month of November specifically so she could have Peonies!

Angharad’s bouquet was all white Peonies in closed – mid bloom with a touch of pale green foliage on the exterior.

Their stunning reception design featured reflective mirror tiles, candles, white hydrangea and white peony blooms with a central, glass apothecary jar filled with white candy.

Award winning photographer Marcus Bell from Studio Impressions captured the day beautifully.
